All kinds of Freet Steel Sucker Rods are manufactured from micro-alloyed, modified special quality hot rolled alloy steel. The raw materials of rod are all quality alloy steel as 20CrMoA. Bar and sucker rod dimensions and tolerances conform to API Spec 11B, latest edition, and YB/T 054-94 Hot rolled Steel for sucker rod. All rods are straightened and inspected by defectoscope for surface defects. Both ends are upset by hot forging, adopting patent heating technology designed independently to protect excessive heating and overroasting. Rods are full length quenched to relieve residual stresses, and tempered to refine and homogenize grain structure. All rods are also shotpeened to improve fatigue life. Upset pin blanks are machined and dimensions gauged. Pin threads are cold-formed to strengthen the thread from fatigue. These rods feature fully rolled, cold-formed threads designed to provide a precise, smooth, reinforced thread structure not attainable by normal machine-cut threads. Metal is displaced rather than removed, and the resultant cold working strengthens the thread root. An inhibitor lubricant is applied to each pin and thread protector installed. An oil soluble coating protects Freet rods from atmospheric corrosion in storage. All rods are bundled to prevent handling damage during transportation to the well location. Quality control inspections are performed at each step of the manufacturing process.
